Services

I offer telehealth sessions to those living in Illinois or in-person sessions at 2650 W Montrose in Chicago, IL

Individual Psychotherapy

I provide one-on-one talk therapy to adults and adolescents. This can range from weekly sessions based on building skills through CBT and DBT to more effectively navigate life, to more intensive, higher frequency work that targets deeper causes and resolves more fundamental dysfunctional patterns depending on your individual goals and situation.

Child Therapy

I work with children and adolescents to provide therapeutic support for various challenges, including episodic difficulties (distinct stressors like divorce, school issues, friend issues, grief and loss) or longer term concerns such as self esteem, anxiety, separation anxiety, emotional regulation, and emotional intelligence and awareness. Therapy with children often involves play, including toys, games, and art—the content that is expressed in behavior and action is a communication just like language, and is often more accessible for children.

Parent Consultation

I work with parents, either individually or together, to navigate challenges with their child’s behavior, family communication, or to deal with common anxieties and frustrations that come with parenthood

Couples Therapy

I work with couples to help them understand one another, communicate more effectively, clarify their mutual goals and values, and offer support in navigating changes. I work with couples at all stages of relationships.

I work with people navigating:

  • PTSD, CPTSD: trauma responses, including dissociation and emotional dysregulation.

  • Anxiety: nervousness, panic attacks, feelings of dread

  • Depression: feelings of worthlessness, excessive sadness or crying, feeling stuck, burnout, irritation and anger

  • Relationship difficulties and attachment issues, including codependency, fear of abandonment, and unstable relationships

  • Dysfunctional family of origin dynamics

  • Sexual identity and sexual difficulties

  • Gender identity (including affirming care, self expression and exploration, and helping to navigate intolerance and discrimination)

  • Life transitions and adjustments: marriage and divorce, breakups, pregnancy, childbirth, illness, relocation, starting or ending school

  • Stress: burnout, overwhelm, excessive anger, psychosomatic experiences of stress

  • Eating Disorders: disordered eating, body image concerns, using food/eating/exercise/body manipulation to address or avoid intense feelings

  • Grief: death, divorce, breakups, and other types of loss

Session Length and Frequency

Most sessions are 55 minutes, and the minimum starting frequency for regular individual therapy is weekly sessions.

Cancellation Policy

Sessions must be cancelled by email 48 hours before the scheduled time. Cancellations after that time will be considered missed sessions, which are charged at the full session fee. Missed sessions are usually not covered by insurance. If you need to cancel with less notice, but are able to reschedule before your next scheduled session, there will be no extra charge to reschedule.

Insurance

I am in network with Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar Health, and BCBS PPO. For others, I am happy to supply documentation to you for you to file an out-of-network claim with your insurance provider. Please talk to your insurance representative directly for more information about your out-of-network benefits.

Cost of Service

The out of pocket cost for sessions are $175. There are a limited number of sliding scale spots, based on availability and demonstrated financial need.

Ending Therapy

If you have concerns about your therapy, please let me know, and we can figure out the best resolution together, whether that is a change in our work, or a referral to another provider. In terms of therapeutic process, it’s ideal to have a final session where we both know in advance it will be the last session, but I realize that’s not always possible. In those cases, please let me know in writing that you would not like to continue.
